Pursuant to a plea agreement, the defendant entered a guilty plea to a charge of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, a violation of La.R.S. 14:95.1. The trial court subsequently sentenced the defendant to twelve and one-half years at hard labor, without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence.
