Appellant Philip Surles ("Surles") appeals the trial court's denial of his petition for custody of his biological daughter, Kayla. In a connected case, Surles also appeals the denial of his motion for visitation with Kayla's half-sibling, James, whose biological father is appellee Marty Cullen, Jr. ("Cullen"), and to whom Surles has no biological ties.
