This appeal arises out of a negligence action brought by the plaintiff, Laura Demchak, against the defendant, the city of New Haven, to recover damages for injuries she sustained when she fell on a walkway in a public park. On appeal, the defendant claims that (1) the jury charge was improper, and (2) the court improperly granted the plaintiff's motion to set aside the verdict and for additur1 because
