Following a jury trial, defendant, Phillip A. Meyers, was convicted of resisting a peace officer (720 ILCS 5/31-1(a-7) (West 2002)) and aggravated battery of a peace officer (720 ILCS 5/12-4(b)(6) (West 2002)).
