LAWSON, J.

Gary Kolin, ("Kolin"), appeals the trial court's orders denying his motions to dismiss the State's petition for involuntary civil commitment under the Jimmy Ryce Act, ("the Act").1 We affirm.

Kolin was convicted of sexual battery in 1990, and sentenced to 15 years imprisonment. Two days before his scheduled release date of November 23, 2001, the State filed a petition to civilly commit Kolin as a sexually violent predator...
