Defendant, Erick Rodriguez, appeals from his convictions of aggravated criminal sexual assault (720 ILCS 5/12-14(a)(1) (West 2000)) and unlawful restraint (720 ILCS 5/10-3(a) (West 2000)). He argues that his trial counsel provided ineffective assistance of counsel and that the trial court erred in sentencing him on the aggravated criminal sexual assault conviction.
