Mark Reed entered a conditional guilty plea to conspiracy to distribute in excess of 50 kilograms of marijuana in violation of 21 U.S.C. §§ 846, 841(a)(1). In that plea, Reed reserved the right to appeal the district court's denial of his motion to suppress which had sought to exclude incriminating statements he made to law enforcement authorities.
