This litigation arises out of a family dispute over the ownership of land in Davidson County. Plaintiff Evelyn Barton Beck ("Mrs.Beck") and her husband, Avery Edward Beck ("Mr.Beck"), deeded land to their son, defendant Larry Eugene Beck, in January 1998. Mrs. Beck subsequently sued to invalidate the deed, claiming that Mr. Beck — now deceased — was incompetent at the time he signed the deed....
