On May 2, 2003, defendant Steven T. Rogers entered a blind plea of guilty but mentally ill to one count each of armed violence (720 ILCS 5/33A-2(a) (West 2002)), home invasion (720 ILCS 5/12-11(a)(2) (West 2002)), and aggravated battery (720 ILCS 5/12-4(b)(1) (West 2002)). The circuit court of Du Page County sentenced defendant to concurrent terms of imprisonment of 23 years for the armed-violence and home-invasion...
