Following a jury trial, the defendant, Derron Johnson, was convicted of first-degree murder (720 ILCS 5/9-1(a)(2) (West 2002)) and sentenced to 27 years' imprisonment. On appeal, the defendant argues that (1) the trial court erred in denying his motion to quash his arrest due to lack of probable cause; (2) his trial counsel was ineffective for not seeking to quash his arrest for being in violation of
