Dorsey was found guilty of: (1) one count of attempted possession of a prohibited weapon (a belt) in violation of D.C.Code § 22-4514 (2001); (2) one count of simple assault, in violation of D.C.Code § 22-404; and (3) one count of attempted second-degree cruelty to children, in violation of D.C.Code § 22-1101(b).
