Claimant had been employed by an airline as a customer service representative when she took an indefinite, unpaid leave of absence in 2000 to serve full time as the president of Local 1171 of the Communications Workers of America, a union comprised of employees of the airline. In 2003, claimant lost her bid for reelection and, upon being informed by the airline that she could not return to her previous employment...
