In February of 2003, a grand jury indicted Anthony Baldwin on three counts of wire fraud and on one count of conspiracy to defraud in connection with an attempt to obtain money by faking his own kidnapping. During his jury trial, Baldwin sought to introduce a video reenactment of his conduct during the relevant time period in order to corroborate the account of the kidnapping that he had given to the police.
