The victim in this case died of multiple gunshot wounds inflicted on July 17, 1990. Ten years later, the defendant, with a Bible in hand, walked into a New York City police task force base to confess his involvement in the shooting. Thereafter, a jury in the Superior Court convicted him of murder in the first degree on the theories of deliberate premeditation and extreme atrocity or cruelty.1 Represented by new counsel on appeal...
