In 1995, Ernesto Cirilo-Muñoz ("Cirilo") was convicted of aiding and abetting, during the commission of a drug crime, the murder of an on-duty policeman. This court affirmed the conviction. United States v. Mangual-Corchado, 139 F.3d 34 (1st Cir.1998).
