This case presents questions concerning the law of contribution among joint tortfeasors. The questions arise in a complex procedural setting; but we can simplify. In 1996, two airplanes, one carrying ten passengers, collided on a runway in a small municipal airport in Illinois. All fourteen persons aboard the two airplanes were killed.
