Ruben Horton retired from his position at Ford Motor Company, Defendant, in 1983 at age 53. After Mr. Horton's death in 2002, Plaintiff Lillie Horton sought spousal benefits from Ford as Mr. Horton's common law wife. Ford denied her request and she sought review from the Ford Motor Company-UAW Retirement Board of Administration ("Board"), which also denied her request on the ground that Mr. Horton elected not to provide spousal...
