A jury convicted Macquillie Woodard of possessing less than 5 grams of crack cocaine with intent to distribute that drug. See 21 U.S.C. § 841(b)(1)(C). Because his prior convictions for burglary made him a career offender, he was sentenced to 210 months' imprisonment. See U.S.S.G. § 4B1.1. The statutory maximum for distributing any quantity of crack cocaine is 240 months (20 years), and Woodard's 210-month sentence conforms to...
