[¶ 1.] Vanessa Mudlin (Mudlin) was employed by Hills Materials Company (Hills) of Rapid City, South Dakota. She was assigned to a crew that was working on a road construction project near Faith, South Dakota. While traveling to the job site, Mudlin was injured as a result of a one-vehicle accident.
