After Charles Flowers' death from mesothelioma, his heirs brought this wrongful death action against a number of defendants including Union Carbide Corporation, which had mined a form of asbestos to which he was allegedly exposed. At the conclusion of trial, the jury brought in a verdict for Union Carbide, by then the sole remaining defendant.
