Defendant-appellee Michael E. Jackson pled guilty to one count of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(1). The district court granted Jackson's motion for a downward departure, departing eight levels from Jackson's base offense level.
