On November 20, 2000, defendant, who was then 16 years old, Theodore Haynes and two other young men devised and executed a plan to order a pizza and then rob the delivery person. Defendant provided his cohorts with weapons, including baseball bats, and when the victim arrived, he tried to force the victim into a vacant apartment.
