Following a two-day trial, a jury convicted defendant Luis Mercado of being a felon in possession of a firearm, 18 U.S.C. § 922(g). The district court sentenced him to 120 months in prison and three years of supervised release under the then-mandatory United States Sentencing Guidelines.
