BAKER, J.

¶ 1 Edward Bland challenges his conviction for second degree assault, arguing, among other things, that the jury was improperly instructed on the law of the defense. Because the jury instruction on defense of property was not manifestly clear, it was erroneous. The State's closing argument further confused the law, rather than clarify it. The flawed instruction was not harmless error; therefore, we reverse.
