Defendant Randolph Carpenter appeals from the judgment of conviction and sentence entered by the district court. While on patrol in November 2001, two Providence police officers stopped a speeding vehicle driven by Carpenter. When one of the officers walked up to the passenger-side window of the vehicle, he observed Carpenter was holding a handgun. Carpenter promptly sped off, and the police pursued...
