A jury found James Guevara guilty as a party to the murder of his wife, Velia Guevara, and sentenced him to life in prison and a $10,000 fine. On original submission, Guevara complained of the sufficiency of the evidence, error in the jury charge, prosecutorial misconduct, and ineffective assistance of counsel.
