Plaintiff American Transit Insurance Company (American Transit) issued a policy of automobile liability insurance to defendant Lincoln Hinds for the period March 1, 2000 to March 1, 2001. Hinds owned a passenger for hire vehicle, and he failed to pay his premiums for June, July or August 2000. On August 24, 2000, an underwriter for American Transit sent Hinds a notice of cancellation, stating that the liability policy would terminate...
