In this appeal, we examine the parameters of the Labor Commissioner's authority to conduct hearings, render decisions and assess penalties involving prevailing wage issues under Nevada labor law. We conclude that, under the circumstances of this case, the Labor Commissioner properly heard and rendered a decision on public works project employees' claims alleging inadequate payment under Nevada's prevailing wage statutes.
