A jury convicted Kenneth Wayne Freeman of aggravated sexual assault and assessed his punishment at seventy years' imprisonment. Freeman contends in three issues that: (1) the trial court abused its discretion by denying his motion for new trial premised on an ineffective-assistance-of-counsel claim; (2) his trial counsel provided ineffective assistance by failing to conduct an adequate investigation of his mental health history...
