Appellant Darren Helms was convicted by a jury of felony residential burglary and misdemeanor theft of property with a value of $500 or less. Helms was sentenced as an habitual offender with more than one but less than four prior felony convictions to twenty-five years' imprisonment in the Arkansas Department of Correction for residential burglary and was fined $1000 and sentenced to one year of incarceration in the county jail for theft...
