Plaintiffs appeal the trial court's judgment that the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office is not liable for the tortious conduct of its employee, Deputy Carl Broussard. The trial court held that Deputy Broussard was not acting within the course and scope of his employment when he injured a fellow deputy while practicing a defensive maneuver. We reverse, finding that Deputy Broussard was within the course and scope of his employment, and award damages...
