In child custody cases involving "extraordinary circumstances," Md. Rule 9-208(h)(2) authorizes a circuit court to issue an "immediate order" adopting the recommended findings and orders of a juvenile master, without having to wait until after the usual ten day period for parties to file exceptions to the master's report. When the court exercises its authority to act during the exceptions period, however, its custody order "remains subject to a later determination...
