¶ 1. On August 2, 1996, Effort Alexander purchased five lots in the Buena Vista Subdivision in DeSoto County. Alexander purchased the land through a tax forfeiture. On November 9, 1999, the Buena Vista Lake Maintenance Association (BVLMA) placed a lis pendes notice against Alexander's lots for non-payment of association assessments.
