On December 11, 2003, the defendant was charged with the second degree murder of his wife. During the trial, the defendant filed an oral motion to suppress his videotaped statement. A hearing was conducted outside the presence of the jury, and the motion was denied. On February 25, 2005, a jury found the defendant guilty of second degree murder. The defendant was sentenced to life imprisonment at hard labor without benefit of probation, parole or suspension...
