Richard L. Hodges was convicted of murder made capital because it was committed during the course of a robbery, a violation of § 13A-5-40(a)(2), Ala.Code 1975, and of robbery in the first degree, a violation of § 13A-8-41, Ala.Code 1975. He was sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole for the capital-murder conviction and to 25 years' imprisonment for the robbery conviction...
