¶ 1. Charged with the murder of Carole Chambliss, David Lee Barnes pled guilty to manslaughter. The Covington County Circuit Court found that Barnes entered his plea freely and voluntarily. As a result, the circuit court accepted Barnes's plea. The circuit court sentenced Barnes to serve twenty years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
