¶ 1. Barry Stephan Townsend was convicted of one count of rape and two counts of sexual battery in the Circuit Court of Lee County on February 18, 2004. He was sentenced to ninety-five years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections, with twenty years suspended. Aggrieved by the verdict of the jury, Townsend appealed.
