On April 10, 2002, the appellant, Sean Robert Scott, was convicted in the Jefferson District Court ("the district court") of third-degree domestic violence. The district court sentenced him to serve a term of ninety days in jail, but suspended the sentence and placed him on unsupervised probation for twenty-four months. It also ordered him to pay a $50 fine and court costs and to attend an anger management class...
