In this appeal by a defendant who was convicted of sexual battery and lewd and lascivious molestation of his daughter, we have occasion to consider the proper use of out-of-court ex parte statements. Defendant argues that the State's principal evidence of the crime—a video statement of the victim—failed to satisfy the requirements of the Confrontation Clause of the United States Constitution as recently explicated in Crawford v. Washington...
