In May 2002, defendant, Antonio L. Harris, pleaded guilty to armed robbery (720 ILCS 5/18-2(a)(2) (West 2000)). In exchange for his plea, the State agreed to dismiss other charges but made no agreement with defendant regarding what sentence the State would recommend.
