This criminal appeal arises from the First Judicial District Court, Parish of Caddo, State of Louisiana. Robert Jackson, III was convicted of the illegal use of a weapon by discharging a firearm in a crime of violence, adjudicated a habitual offender, and sentenced to 17 years at hard labor. Jackson appealed. His conviction was affirmed, but his adjudication as a habitual offender and his sentence were overturned. On remand, Jackson was again adjudicated...
