Kerry Neal Mullins pleaded guilty to first-degree sodomy, a violation of § 13A-6-63(a)(3), Ala.Code 1975, and was sentenced to 15 years' imprisonment. Mullins appealed to the Court of Criminal Appeals, arguing that the trial court had erred in denying his motion to suppress the statement he made to law-enforcement officers.
