The defendant, Andrew R. White, pled guilty to two counts of forgery (720 ILCS 5/17-3(a)(2) (West 2002)) and was sentenced to five years of imprisonment. He later filed a pro se motion for an order nunc pro tunc in which he contended that he was entitled to additional credit for his presentence incarceration (730 ILCS 5/5-8-7(b) (West 2002)).
