In August 2002, while executing a consent search, the Cape Girardeau sheriff uncovered 91 rounds of ammunition at the residence of Ronald Gene Brown. A jury convicted Brown of being a felon in possession of ammunition, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(1). The district court1 sentenced him to 188 months imprisonment as an armed career criminal.
