WILLIAMS, Judge.

The defendant, Burnell Moliere, appeals a default judgment in favor of the plaintiff, Louisiana Safety Association of Timbermen—Self Insurers Fund. The district court denied Moliere's motion for new trial. For the following reasons, we reverse in part, affirm in part and remand.
