The Jefferson Parish District Attorney filed a bill of information charging defendant, Shannon Brown, with forcible rape in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:42.1 and second degree kidnapping in violation LSA-R.S. 14:44.1. The defendant pled not guilty at arraignment. The State severed the forcible rape charge. On January 22, 2004, the matter proceeded to trial on the charge of second degree kidnapping before a twelve-person jury, which found defendant...
