STREIT, Justice.

During a routine "pat-down," a Waterloo police officer discovered a crack pipe in Edward Martin's pants. Martin, who was convicted of cocaine possession, claims he was denied effective assistance of counsel because his lawyer did not object when a hearsay-ridden evidence tag made its way to the jury room.
