ZINTER, Justice.

[¶ 1.] Joseph Wayne Thin Elk, also known as Joseph Wayne Ross, was charged with first-degree murder. Thin Elk entered a guilty plea and received a sentence of life imprisonment. Thin Elk appeals, asserting that (1) his guilty plea was not intelligent and voluntary; and (2) there was an insufficient factual basis for the trial court to accept his guilty plea. We disagree and affirm.
