Last June the Supreme Court held in MGM Studios, Inc. v. Grokster, Ltd., ___ U.S. ___, 125 S.Ct. 2764, 162 L.Ed.2d 781 (2005), that a distributed file-sharing system is engaged in contributory copyright infringement when its principal object is the dissemination of copyrighted material.
