¶ 1. A Bolivar County jury found Michael Hayes guilty of murder and of being a felon in the possession of a firearm. Hayes was sentenced to a term of life imprisonment for the murder conviction and three years for the felon in the possession of a firearm conviction. Both sentences were to run concurrently. Hayes filed a motion for a JNOV or, in the alternative, a motion for a new trial. The motion was denied, resulting in this appeal...
